Vehicle coverage cost calculator

Explore a simplified total-loss scenario using your own estimate of the vehicle's value, deductible and annual coverage premium.

How this calculation works

Hypothetical payout = vehicle value minus deductible, with a minimum of $0. The comparison divides that payout by the annual premium to show how many years of that premium equal the payout. A zero premium has no finite comparison.

This is arithmetic for one hypothetical covered total loss, not a prediction, quote, recommendation or determination of legal requirements. Actual claim payments depend on the policy, insurer valuation, limits, exclusions and circumstances. Premiums and vehicle value may change; this comparison excludes partial losses, claim likelihood, financing, taxes and other costs.
